Major Moscow's Assaults Cut Power Across Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
Ukraine's power facilities have faced increased attacks in recent weeks

During the night, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in blackouts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were hurt while inhabitants in eastern districts were left without electricity and faced problems to drinking water, according to local authorities.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was killed in a separate aerial attack in the southeastern region in the southern area, as reported by regional authorities.

Moscow has intensified assaults on energy facilities over recent weeks, while officials has requested "concrete actions" from international partners to exert influence on Moscow.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the US, Europe and the major economies - in providing air defence systems and applying penalties," he wrote in a social media post.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 rockets targeted the country's power systems, describing such strikes as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were working to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes hit energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Several of the people injured in the assaults on the capital have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by municipal representatives.

Area administrators said the city came under significant strikes throughout the evening. A minor lost their life and several individuals were injured.

The attacks follow evenings of air raids in the area, sections of which are currently controlled by invading troops.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are tougher to identify.

Government officials told the media that Russia was purposely seeking to demolish the country's energy grid, with strikes already impacting gas facilities.

Officials stated technical personnel and authorities were preparing for further attacks.
